DAY OF KNOWLEDGE ICELAND: INNOVATION, ENERGY AND TOURISM.

Promoted by the Municipality of Milan in collaboration with Promos, the company specializes of the Chamber of Commerce, the day has made it possible to have a complete overview of Iceland in energy activities, innovation and tourism.

The event was made possible through the collaboration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iceland and Icelandi for Foreign Trade; consisted of several meetings between Icelandic and Italian businessmen to strengthen business between Italy and Iceland.
Opened the study day the Mayor of Milan, Letizia Moratti, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iceland Össur Skarphédinsson, with the presence of the ambassador of Iceland in Paris, Porir Ibsen.

After the greetings and wishes for a concrete cooperation, Thurdur Hilmarsson, a representative of Invest in Iceland Agency, has conducted a comprehensive survey of existing resources in Iceland and opportunities for Italian industry in innovation and Energy. Illustrated how the institution is managed on the basis of a contract between the Trade Council of Iceland and the Ministry of Industry.

The agency team provides free information and experts, covering all aspects of investment.
The organization collects information on investment opportunities in Iceland, processes data for the economic, organizing site visits and plans for contracts with local authorities, then creates a task force around specific projects.

Porteinn Sigfússon, acting director of the Center for Innovation and Icelandic owner Global Energy International Prize 2007, he brilliantly shows how Iceland Innovation is a leading R & D and business support is in Iceland. The mission is to increase innovation, productivity and competitiveness of Icelandic companies operating in innovative technological research, the dissemination of knowledge and giving support to start-up entrepreneurs and businesses.

The afternoon sessions were split into two directions: Tourism and Business-to-business.
Circolo Polare was in the section of tourism, deepening their knowledge with the various entities involved in Iceland.
Contrary to popular belief today, Iceland is well-developed business tourism thanks to the higher class hotels such as Hilton, and thanks to an organization that deals mainly in the organization of Congress Tourism.
