Thanks to the tenacity of Desio’s daughter,
Maria Emanuela Desio and her family, the association "Ardito
Desio" born in Rome to commemorate the figure of the geologist,
explorer, climber, organizer, mapper, professor, writer… a
man that strongly characterized the italian scientific culture for
a century.
In order to do not disperse the property, in the
August 2002 Desio’s heirs and a large group of youngsters,
fond the association "Ardito Desio" with the purpose of promote
the scientific search and the culture of the mountain and of the
exploration, the science of the land, the natural sciences and the
geography, as well as to contribute to develop actions, studies,
scientific researches that aim to promote the knowledge, the respect,
the use and the protection ofn the environment, with particular
attention to the resources and the natural heritage of the planet.
